My experience with Olivia at the Livonia Rec Center was extremely upsetting. From the way she interacted with me, I felt she treated me differently in a way that came across as racially biased, making me feel unwelcome. What hurt the most was how she spoke to my 2-year-old son, who doesn’t fully talk yet. He had just come down the waterslide and had been sitting for no more than three seconds when Olivia aggressively said to him, “You need to move.” The tone she used with a toddler was completely unnecessary. It felt like she assumed he wasn’t my child because I was holding my other baby, and I found that incredibly disrespectful. When I confronted Olivia and told her he was my son, she simply walked away instead of addressing the situation or apologizing. Later, when the situation was discussed with her manager, the version of events I heard did not match what I experienced. I left feeling dismissed and deeply disappointed. I also felt watched her be extremely mean to other peoples children as well. No parent should have to experience being treated this way while trying to enjoy a family outing. If I could give 0 stars I would! I hope management takes this seriously and ensures ev

Imagine taking like 2 years to "upgrade" the gym, and then not add any weights, machines, or a dedicated stretching area... then just stop cleaning once it's open. Dust balls and human hair everywhere you look. Unreal that we waited through all that crap for this. Oh, and they sent out a coupon for 20% off a membership, a month after we renewed and it expires before we will renew our membership next year. 🙄👎

*Website desperately needs updating with clear, accurate information* Two stars because it is a nice facility, loss of 3 stars for very poor staff communication, lack of clear or accurate information, and a horrible website. It’s impossible to find accurate information about anything, the pricing on their “website” is 4 years old and no longer accurate, which I found out the hard way when it became time to pay, after I had already researched pricing online. Their hours are inaccurate, and the “website” is very difficult to navigate… it seems as though the website is difficult to use on purpose, to discourage people from looking for accurate information before being trapped into a predatory membership they’re not allowed to cancel. When I signed up for a membership, unaware of the inaccurate pricing, I clearly and specifically asked if any of the amenities had differing hours from the center, I was told that only the pool does. I arrived the next morning, an hour after opening, excited to use my new membership, to find out (too late) that the rock wall is only open for 3 hours in the evening… not the same as the center hours, as I was told by staff the day prior. The disappointing l

This place has fallen apart over the years. The equipment takes forever for them to get repaired sometimes, the construction of the new space has made everything else cramped and when you ask when the new workout space will be completed (currently many months past the original due date), no one seems to know or care. The front office staff is typically rude and they do nothing when underage kids take over space they are too young (by their rules) to be in and improperly use equipment. Also, there is no concern when older folks sit on equipment for a half hour talking while not even using the machines and refuse to move when asked nicely if they are done. Will not be renewing my membership; which is a shame because I like supporting the community.
